                   ------天涯咫尺好友BC，其譯注艾略特的Marina

BC是吳大哥，多年前，
中文譯注艾略特這首詩作「Marina」，

前些日子轉寄給我。

這首詩，在2012年新的五本「艾略特作品集」中，是在第一卷《荒原 艾略特文集．詩歌》中的149-151頁。不過，只有中文，沒有原文對照。

而正如BC在注釋裡提及，這首詩是取材自莎士比亞的《泰爾親王，佩力克里斯》。在戲中，親王的女兒瑪林娜（Marina）生在船上，但卻在旅途中不見，親王以為她已不在人世，但當瑪林娜成長為姑娘，竟奇蹟般地回到親王身邊。

這手邊的五卷版，還有特別這樣說明：

艾略特認為「相識」這一幕非常傑出特別，是「純戲劇化的完美範例」。而評論家則認為，艾略特借用這一戲劇場景，描述他自己在宗教中找到生活的真正意義，因此也是一種失而復得的狂喜。

我個人的主觀猜想是，BC寄給我的第一篇作品「Marina」，其用意應是

「相識的喜悅」，正如他在信中所說（而其實也是我的心裡話）：

能認識你真好！

以下，就是在徵得BC同意後，

其中文譯作----艾略特「Marina」，我替他跟大家說：
